It gives me mixed feelings to announce that we’ve reached the conclusion of our Endangered issue and the first phase of Realcity as you know it. I’m incredibly proud of the 500 articles and two issues we’ve created, but it’s time for a new approach. In a city where life moves at double time, many people will probably write us off in the absence. With so many things teetering on the edge right now — our bookstores, stray cats and school systems to name a few — it’s the easy thing to do. The upside is this also makes the comeback that much more satisfying. More details will be released in the following weeks, but I can tell you that our new approach will be more exploratory and most importantly, more realistic. Over the last year I’ve strayed from the ideas which inspired Realcity in the first place and it’s time to find them again. I don’t expect this to be an easy process, but living here never has been. Surviving in New York requires the ability to adapt and it’s time for us to do just that. Thanks to everyone who’s supported us along the way. We’ll see you all soon.
